Freelance Instructions
Understandably, with the COVID pandemic still a valid concern, or with other obligations on your busy schedule, you may not wish or be able to participate in the in-person event, but would still like to donate in your own way and on your own time. Great! We have alternative options for you, and this page will outline those options. As always, if you have any questions, please give Nick a message at [email protected].
Option 1: Ride on your own time: We would like to encourage you, your family, and your friends to pick a day in November or December after the main ride day to create your own ride and adventure (since the manifest is kept a secret until the day before the ride). You can race or go at your own pace - it's up to you! You can even just pick up all the items from one store. Do what you are most comfortable with! See our drop-off instructions below for how to donate your haul.
Option 2: Financial Donations: Food is great, but money can often go a lot further. If you don't wish to ride, you can still help out by making a financial donation to CommUnity and Table to Table. The advantages of doing this are you don't have to wait until the manifest is released and the organization can put the money to great use. If you would like to donate financially, please visit here. You can write a check or give cash during the in-person event between 11am and 2pm as well when the riders are out and there are fewer people around.

Gather all the items from the Manifest List (see main event page) and deliver them to CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank, located at 1045 Highway 6 East (Pepperwood Plaza) in Iowa City on Monday, November 20th, between 12pm and 4:30pm. 12pm is preferable so that we can get an actual weight count of all items at the end as well as have volunteers ready to handle all the donations at once. Alternatively, if you wish to donate money in person, this is another great time to do so.
Can't make the drop-off time? No problem! You can drop off your donations anytime at your own convenience and during CommUnity's hours of operations. Out of respect for the staff working during the flu season, we strongly recommend you wear a face mask at the time of your donation drop-off.
